May 27, 2018, on the occasion of the Solemnity of the Holy Trinity, 262 members of the Worship Ministry gathered for their first General Assembly for the year, which was held at the Parish Celebration Hall at 11:00 AM.
All Worship Liturgical Ministers, namely the Extraordinary Ministers of the Holy Communion, Ministry of Lectors and Commentators, Ministry of Liturgical Music, Ministry of Greeters and Collectors, Ministry of Altar Servers, and Multi Media Liturgical Servers were required to attend. The attached groups of the Worship Ministry, namely the Apostleship of Prayer, Family Rosary Crusade, and Mother Butler Guild were not required, but encouraged to attend.
The first General Assembly was organized by the Worship Ministry Head, Sis. Mila Enriquez, while the seminar/talk for that day was facilitated by Fr. Mark Marbella, priest-in-charge for the Worship Ministry.
Fr. Mark initially discussed the purpose of the biennial General Assembly: to cascade updates from RCAM/CBCP regarding liturgical matters; to answer Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) pertaining to liturgical and pastoral law; and to build close relations and camaraderie among liturgical ministers so that they could all serve better together. He also gave some important reminders to the group. Each Ministry was given an assignment to do their own Group Evaluation, as well as Cross-Evaluation of the other Liturgical Groups based on the guide questions he gave. This will be submitted prior to the next General Assembly.
The seminar only lasted an hour, and the group will meet again for the next General Assembly scheduled on October 27, 2018, 6:00 PM.
The General Assembly ended with a pot-lunch prepared and shared by all the Ministries present.
