CWL of the Archdiocese of Manila invited all its vicariates and units for their 35th Biennial Convention. This was held last March 24, 2018 at the Centennial Room of Manila Hotel. CWL SJBP Unit attendees were Brenda Enriquez, Merle Natiola, Zeny Lucea, Bebot Hipolito, Ely Salayon. and Zeny Wong.
The Eucharistic Celebration was administered by H.E. Luis Antonio Tagle. Concelebrants were Msgr. Roberto Canlas, Msgr.Bong Lo, Fr. Louie Coronel, Fr. Benny Guanzon, and Msgr. Mario Enrique.
The 35th Biennial Convention is a grace filled gathering of Catholic women meant to foster camaraderie and deeper commitment in our mission to serve God and the community. It is also an occasion for thanksgiving and renewing commitment to meet the new challenges we will encounter as we face together our common vision to be a disciple of Christ, following the 2018-2020 biennial theme, “CWL OUR RESPONSE TO LAUDATO SI.” This is an encyclical of Pope Francis on caring for creation and caring for human beings.
The homily and keynote address of Cardinal Tagle reminded us that creations are gifts from God, so we have to take care and treasure them. We have to be good stewards and custodians of gifts. We are called to take care of our environment so as not to destroy humanity.
In totality, the CWL Biennial Convention brought us together, solidarity to get involved to respond to the challenge of our Holy Father to preserve the earth and creation that God had entrusted us.
PRAISE TO OUR LORD!
