SJBP joins the whole Catholic Community in the 55th World Day of Prayer for Vocations held last April 22, 2018 on the occasion of the Good Shepherd Sunday.  In all masses, the reflections were focused on the vocation to priestly and consecrated life, encouraging young people to consider the said ways of life.
Particular intentions pertaining to vocations were also included in the Prayer of the Faithful, and Prayer for Vocations was also recited after the post communion prayer. Second Collection in support for the Vocation Promotion Ministry was also made, where we were able to raise P25,765.75. The amount will be remitted to RCAM.
Let us consistently pray for more vocations, and form shepherds who will continue to care and nurture God’s sheepfold.

Almighty and eternal God, Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
in your unfailing love you always provide
ministers for your Church.

Touch the hearts of our young people
that they may hear the voice of Christ inviting them
to be his friends and disciples.

Call numerous men and women
to serve the Church in the archdiocese of Manila
as priests, missionaries, religious men and women.

Inspire in them a joyful and generous response to your invitation.
Grant them courage and vision to serve your people
with the love of the Good Shepherd.

May their lives and service
call all your holy people to respond
to the presence of your Spirit among us that,
faithful to the Gospel and hope of Jesus the Christ,
we may: announce glad tidings to the poor
proclaim liberty to captives,
set prisoners free and renew the face of the earth.

Enkindle in each and everyone of us the fire of the Holy Spirit
so that we may share to others the joy of the Gospel. Amen.
Holy Mary, mother of the Good Shepherd, pray for us
